The numbers

Every way money moves at Real.

What you pay, and the four ways Real pays agents beyond commission. All of it from Real's own pages, with the date each was checked, and none of it multiplied into what you'd earn.

01 · What you pay

The fee schedule, straight off Real's page.

No "starting at." No fine print you find in month three. This is the standard individual plan in the US; team members cap at $6,000 or $4,000 with the same per-transaction fees.

  • 85/15Split until you reach the cap.
  • $12,000Cap on that split, each anniversary year. Then 100%.
  • $50CBR fee on every transaction, before and after the cap.
  • $900Annual brokerage fee, taken $300 at a time from your first three transactions.
  • $285Per sale after you cap. $125 per lease. $100 once you reach Elite.
  • $249Sign-up fee, one time. No monthly fees.

What Real costs as a share of your commission, by volume

Every sale at $8,000 gross commission. Sign-up fee and personal deals excluded.

The flat $12,000 cap is why the line falls: once it's paid, only the per-sale fees remain. Source: Real Broker help center, "How much does it cost to hang my license with Real (US)?" and "Elite Agent Program", checked November 2026.

02 · Revenue share

Real pays you a share of its split when an agent you sponsored closes.

Five tiers. Tier 1 is the agents you sponsor directly; Tier 2 is the agents they sponsor, and so on. Each tier pays a percentage of that agent's gross commission, capped per agent per year.

Revenue share ceilings by tier

The most Real will pay per sponsored agent in a year, on a $12,000-cap agent. Tiers 2 to 5 must be unlocked.

A ceiling, not a rate: Real caps the program at 60% of its revenue and adjusts payments at month end. Source: Real help center, "How is revenue share calculated?" and "8 Ways to Earn Income at Real (US Agents)", updated 31 August 2026.

Tier 15%$4,000
Tier 24%$3,200
Tier 33%$2,400
Tier 42%$1,600
Tier 51%$800
Who pays it
Real, out of its 15% split. The agent you sponsored pays nothing extra.
To receive it
You must be producing: $450 in splits to Real every rolling six months. Six-month grace period when you join. Capped agents count as producing until the later of their anniversary or nine months after capping.
Fees
$175 a year, taken from the first payment of each anniversary year, then 1.2% on every payment.
Paid into
A Real Wallet business checking account. Required for US agents since September 1, 2026.
Unlocking Tiers 2 to 5
5, 15, 20 and 25 producing agents in your Tier 1. Or pay your full cap (Tiers 1 to 3) or reach Elite (all five) for the rest of that year. Or a total network of 750, 1,000 and 1,500 agents.
If you leave
It ends. Reactivate your license with Real within 365 days and your network is restored; after that it is gone.
If you retire
After five full consecutive producing years, Real Retirement keeps paying as long as your license stays with Real.
Co-sponsors and heirs
A new agent can name two sponsors who split it 50/50. After three full calendar years at Real you can name a beneficiary.

Nothing here is a projection of what anyone receives, and most agents receive nothing from it.

03 · Stock

Six ways to own part of the company. All of them vest, all of them require you to stay.

Real REMAX Group trades on Nasdaq as REAX. Every award is paid in restricted stock units that are forfeited if you leave before the vesting date. What they're worth depends on the share price when they vest.

ProgramPublished termsVests after
Stock Purchase Plan5% of net commission before cap, 10% after, buys Real stock at market. Optional. $250 minimum, annual maximums apply.1 year

How long each stock award is locked

Restricted stock units vest only if you're still at Real on the date.

Checked 7 November 2026. Real's income page (31 August 2026) still lists 150/75/50 shares for capping and 75/35/25 for attracting; its stock page dropped those counts on 6 November 2026 and now says they are "subject to change as Real's agent count grows." 04 · Elite

Real's top-producer tier, reached one of two ways in a single year.

Route one

$12,000 + $6,000

Pay your full cap, then another $6,000 in post-cap transaction fees. At $285 a sale that's your 22nd post-cap closing.

Route two

$500K + 10

$500,000 in gross commission and ten closed transactions at $1 million or more, where you received at least half the gross commission on each. Rebates come off; personal deals don't count.

What you get

$12,000

In stock, vesting over three years. Your post-cap fee drops to $100 a sale for the rest of the year. Then up to $8,000 more in stock for teaching or hosting (the Cultural Award). Elite also unlocks revenue share Tiers 1 to 5 for the year.

Sources: Real help center, "Elite Agent Program", updated 4 November 2026; Real help center, "Elite Agent Cultural Award", updated 11 September 2026. Checked 7 November 2026. The award was $16,000 and the Elite fee $129 for agents who reached Elite before September 1, 2026. Real says the program "is reviewed annually and is subject to change."

05 · Real Originate

Be the loan originator on your own buyer's mortgage.

Through One Real Mortgage, selected full-time agents get their own mortgage loan originator license, become part-time W-2 employees of the mortgage company, and are paired with an internal loan officer who runs each file. You bring the client and help with the application; you're paid under a loan originator compensation agreement when it closes.

You need
An NMLS mortgage loan originator license (20 hours of pre-licensing education plus the SAFE test), sponsorship by One Real Mortgage, and to be in a state where it lends.
What Real publishes about the pay
"Compensation is based solely on work performed on each loan and is governed by the applicable loan originator compensation agreement." No rate or per-loan figure is published, so none is quoted here.
What to ask before you start
The compensation agreement itself, any production minimum, the states currently open, and what you must disclose to a client when you're their agent and their originator on the same purchase.
